Read what Liz said about her experience attending the Shift.

In your own words, what would you say to someone thinking about attending the Shift?

In my opinion, EVERYONE should attend the Shift; the world would be a better place for doing so. It is invaluable to anyone wishing to have more effective conversations and productive relationships. Prior to attending, I thought of myself as a pretty good communicator. However, I learnt so much that is going to be incredibly useful, not only in my professional role but also in my personal life.
Leigh is immensely proficient at what she does, she also offers a certain kind of magic to the content. She is hugely knowledgable and offers tremendous support to the delegates - she just knows how to get the best out of people and situations. If you are on the fence, I suggest you take the leap and book yourself a place. You won't be sorry.

What were your expectations or goals when you attended the Shift leadership experience?

Relationship building is one of my strengths and I thrive on positive relationships - however, I shy away from conflict. I wanted to learn some tips and tricks for having effective conversations and to learn how I may be contributing to conversations and situations that do not go as well as I had hoped.

How did the Shift help you?

Curiosity is key - seek to understand. Pre-judging the facts without really knowing them is not a healthy way to approach a situation.

What were the most valuable lessons, outcomes or skills you experienced during the Shift?

There were so many but what stands out for me is that in a conversation where there is a difference of opinion, it doesn't mean one party has to be right and the other wrong.
The other invaluable learning was that I tend to pre-judge situations based on the facts available - I definitely have not been curious enough.

How would you describe the impact of the Shift on your leadership abilities and style?

The Shift has, without doubt, made my approach to conversations more thoughtful.

How would you describe Leigh’s style of facilitation, leadership and training?

A-maz-ing. Probably one of the best facilitators I have had the pleasure to work with.

Would you recommend "The Shift" leadership experience to others? If so, who and why?

Yes, I would!

"Being in Leigh's company is a tonic for the soul."
